Dr. Sam LaCroix is a Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner who uses a functional movement approach to treat the underlying cause of injury. The goal is to focus on the improvement of movement patterns to reduce the risk of injury and increase overall performance. Dr. Sam and Whole Athlete treat patients of all ages and skill levels, ranging from youth and recreational sports to professional and Olympic level athletes.

Dr. Sam has been working with athletes in the Austin area since 2006, starting as a Student Athletic Trainer, and then professionally, as Head Athletic Trainer for NCAA & NAIA universities. His extensive work with elite athletes and on-field experience allows him to evaluate and treat the area of concern utilizing muscle testing, movement screenings, and return to play protocols.

Dr. Sam LaCroix is a native Austinite and graduated from Lake Travis High School. He earned his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology, with an emphasis in Athletic Training, from St. Edward’s University in Austin, TX. He went on to earn his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Life University in Marietta, GA.

Dr. Sam loves cooking, live music, sports, and spending time with his wife and daughter. As a former competitive figure skater, Dr. Sam earned his USFS pre-gold medals in Freestyle & Moves in the Field. His background as a high level athlete and athletic trainer provides an extensive understanding in movement patterns and allows him to educate his patients for their own optimal health and performance.

Dr. Dagbjört “Dagga” Magnúsdóttir uses a combination of functional movement assessments, soft tissue therapy, and individualized rehab programs to create long-lasting results. Her focus is on restoring optimal movement patterns, preventing injury, and helping each patient move, feel, and perform at their best. Dr. Dagga works with people of all ages and activity levels – from those recovering from everyday aches and pains to youth athletes, weekend warriors, and elite competitors.

A lifelong athlete, Dr. Dagga participated in both track and soccer, and her personal experience with sports injuries led her to seek holistic, functional care that focuses on root causes – not just the symptoms. From competing at a collegiate level for five years in short and long sprints (200-800m) to training with World Champions, Olympians, and the Icelandic National Track Team, she knows first hand how to approach both performance and recovery.

History Dr. Dagbjört Magnúsdóttir was born and raised in Reykjavík, Iceland. After high school, she received a sports scholarship from Life University in Marietta, GA, competing in NAIA Track and Field. Dr. Dagga earned a Bachelor of Science in both Biology and Interdisciplinary Studies at Life University, and went on to complete her Doctorate of Chiropractic, also from Life University.

Outside the clinic, you’ll find her outdoors as much as possible - running, hiking, jet skiing, wakeboarding, skydiving, or anything that gets her heart rate up. She also loves exploring new coffee shops and brunch spots, traveling the world, and spending time with friends and family.
